What grade levels is Choir Ninja designed for?

Choir Ninja is designed primarily for middle school choir, but it can also be used with upper elementary students in grades 4–5 and beginning high school singers, particularly in 9th grade. Because the curriculum is skill-based rather than grade-based, teachers can choose the starting level that best matches their students’ music-reading experience.

Do I need Sight Reading Factory to use Choir Ninja?

No. Choir Ninja can be used completely on its own. Sight Reading Factory is an optional tool that can provide students with additional practice and assessment opportunities using the skills from their current Choir Ninja level.

Can I start in the middle of the school year?

Absolutely. You can begin Choir Ninja at any point in the year. Choose the level that best matches your students’ current skills and begin there. There is no requirement to start at White Belt or complete a certain number of belts each year.

Is Choir Ninja a digital download or a physical product?

Choir Ninja curriculum resources are digital downloads. You can display materials digitally and print classroom materials as needed. Any physical recognition items, such as stickers, can be printed or ordered separately.

Does every choir have to start at White Belt?

No. Choir Ninja is skill-based, not grade-based. Beginning singers can start with White Belt, while more experienced ensembles can enter the sequence at the level that best matches their existing music literacy skills.

Yes. Bass clef is introduced as students move into the intermediate and advanced levels, making the curriculum appropriate for developing and changing voices.

Does Choir Ninja include different keys?

Yes. Students begin in C major and gradually expand into B♭, D, E♭, F, and G major as their skills develop. The highest level also introduces minor tonality. New keys are added intentionally so students can build strong sight-reading skills before increasing the difficulty.
